Our second children’s home in coordination with Save Asian Souls is nearly complete!
Two of our existing employees, husband and wife team Alner and Maylina Ballaso, have agreed to take on the colossal task of acting as house parents. Alner and Maylina have two daughters of their own ages 7 & 11 (Nova and Ariane).
The home will house a maximum of 24 girls vulnerable to human trafficking and needing our help.
We (CEA) will manage the home on a daily basis but Save Asian Souls Foundation will finance the operational costs.
Please contact Pat Brown: patbrown10@gmail.com to sponsor a girl in this home.
Modular Classes Began October 6
Due to Covid-19 the Philippine government is not allowing face to face classes for school children. They are providing a modular curriculum children can complete at home. While this may seem quite reasonable for the average family, we currently have 15 children under our mission’s Orphan Care Program, spanning 6 different grade levels!
The material is designed for the children to complete with the help of their parents but leaves us in a bit of a bind having so many children in our care!
This requires many hours of our staff’s time to assist the children in their studies and an additional financial expense we had not expected. We are thankful we currently have two volunteer teachers each day helping with this time consuming task!
We are very fortunate that we also have two teachers that volunteer each Saturday to help tutor children that need extra help in their studies. Sisters Winnelyn Oroy (Secondary School Teacher), and Jeryn Torres (TIC/Elementary School Teacher) are employed as public school teachers but expressed an interest in volunteering to help in CEA-Philippine Mission’s Child Education & Youth Ministry program! This is truly a selfless act as they stated “We are sure that this will be an excellent opportunity to help the kids”.
Thank you so much for sharing your expertise in teaching, to help the children of Casa Esperanza!
Construction Updates
While putting the finishing touches on our second children’s home we have also made some progress with the back property line enclosure wall.
We hope to begin construction on the Family Cottage soon as well so the laundry house, where we (Ron & Gigi) currently live and doubles as office space, can be freed up for its intended purpose.
It proved to be quite challenging during the current monsoon season, but we finally managed to get the multi-game court in the children’s playground area painted! Weather permitting, the children are all excited to do some exercise and sports activities at the multi-game court. Many thanks again to our generous donors for making this project possible!
Matthew 19:14 (NKJV)
14But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
