Construction Update
We are heading into the homestretch of getting ready to open our doors for operation. The final tasks for completing the first children’s home are underway. We are staining and varnishing the exterior doors, and will soon start building the kitchen cabinets. The children’s bunk beds are also under construction!
The finishing touches on the guard house are also nearing completion. We have built lockers for the guards and countertop work area where the CCTV monitor/equipment will be.
The water tank tower is rising and will hopefully be completed by end of October.
Work on the exterior wall and extended columns continues. Our 3 phase electrical lines will run down this wall to supply power to all our existing/planned structures.
Am I Blessed?
When defining “blessed” in general terms, rather than in a religious way, we know it to mean: “of or enjoying happiness, bringing pleasure, contentment, or good fortune”.
I would venture to say most anyone reading this newsletter can consider themselves “blessed”…and many of us are “blessed” very well. We have good jobs, we have a home to lay our head at night, we do not go hungry on a daily basis…….so in general we can consider ourselves blessed!
Many in this world are not….and it certainly wasn’t their choice in life. They struggle on a daily basis to feed, house, and clothe themselves. They have no money for health care or luxuries of any kind. They do not enjoy happiness, contentment, or good fortune in their lives like we do.
If you compare the Philippines, China, and the US in the areas of health, education, and living standards you will see the Philippines struggles when compared to these other countries…except in education when compared to China.
Can we resolve this problem? As much as we try, it is not likely! Should we then just do nothing but say “so sorry…..hope things get better for you”? Of course not!
I propose, that regardless of this “God sized problem”, we do what we can! We can never forget the words from Christ Himself:
Matthew 25:40 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Many people in this community need our help both physically and spiritually. Together we can make a difference!
Jan. 24, 2019 Outreach
2016 outreach project:
As mentioned in our last newsletter, our parents Ron & Pat Brown will be visiting with us in January 2019 and during this time we will do an outreach to a local impoverished community near the orphanage property.
2017 outreach project:
The preliminary plans and costs are listed here:
Grocery packs for the families – $ 150
Pack meals for the children – $ 100
Pack meals for adults – $ 200
Table/Chair and Canopy Rental – $ 75
Crayons/ coloring pens/ clothes/gifts for children – $ 70
Grand Total needed for this event: $595
While some of the gifts to this community have already been donated (dresses and shorts for the children), and Georgia has made coloring books with the “creation” theme … we still need donations to cover the cost of this outreach.
We always solicit funds for outreach events separately than funds donated for the Casa Esperanza of Angels orphanage. If you are able to help, even if a small amount, you will be a great blessing to these people in need!
Send your donations to:
Philippians 2:1-3 (KJV)
2 If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
2 Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
3 Let nothing be done through strife or vain glory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
Our Sincere thanks and God’s Blessings to you all,
Ronald and Georgia Brown
