In September the “ber” months began and Filipinos start setting their sights on Christmas!
For Christmas at CEA we celebrate Christmas as a time for family, gift giving, thanksgiving, and bonding with one another. We will have a Christmas party as a group and the children will all receive gifts of equal value.
We ask that sponsors not send gifts to the children as shipping is costly and possibly may never arrive at our door. We also want to insure each child receives gifts that are basically of the same value to prevent any ill feelings. Each child will receive gifts valued at between $10 – $15 dollars each.
If you, as a sponsor of a child or donor to our mission, would like to contribute towards the purchase of gifts for the children and the Christmas party we would greatly appreciate that!
Construction update
Interior painting of the family cottage is complete, interior electrical fixtures have been installed, and windows have been ordered.
Work on the cabinetry, and doors is underway.
Some of our construction crew workers have been shifted to completion of the enclosure wall. We still have one lengthy section to complete to be fully enclosed for protection of the children.
What does God Expect?
Excellence is never an accident; it is the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, skillful execution, and the vision to see obstacles as opportunities.
Does God really expect our best? He certainly gives us the very best! God’s work is not average, it is excellent!
Colossians 3:23 tells us:
23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,
Is it okay to give someone less than our best just because they come from poverty? Is that what we see from God? Is giving less than we are capable of because others are poor and should be satisfied with anything acceptable?
Jesus said in Luke 10: 12-14:
12 Then He also said to him who invited Him, “When you give a dinner or a supper, do not ask your friends, your brothers, your relatives, nor rich neighbors, lest they also invite you back, and you be repaid. 13 But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind. 14 And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”
He didn’t say just give them some leftovers or crumbs because they are poor anyway and are used to less…He said make them your honored guests!
This is why at Casa Esperanza of Angels we provide a good standard and quality of life for the poor, less fortunate, needy children in our care. After all, if we are anticipating great things from them in the future, shouldn’t we be doing the best for them we can now?
Are we not to follow God’s example and Christ’s teachings?
Our CEA children are thriving and learning every day! They are immersed in their schoolwork, learning God’s plan for their lives, learning hymns and lessons from the bible. Our older boys are leading prayers and learning to give short devotional messages at our midweek bible study.
To see them grow and develop into young Christians is priceless! This is essential to building the Kingdom of God!
Thank you to all our sponsors and donors…you are changing lives! Don’t ever let someone tell you “it costs too much” to save a soul! God set the standard, He gave us His very best in Christ, His only begotten son!
Romans 5:8
8But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
