Our primary goal at the Casa Esperanza of Angels Philippine Mission at this time is to establish a thriving church of Christ congregation in Tanjay City (population: 80,000), Philippines.
Program objective: Establishment of a church of Christ congregation in Tanjay City.
Matthew 28:16 – 20 (KJV)
The Great Commission
“16Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. 17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
Our primary goal at the Casa Esperanza of Angels Philippine Mission at this time is to establish a thriving church of Christ congregation in Tanjay City (population: 80,000), Philippines.
Establishing a growing and vibrant congregation in this area is the underlying rationale of our mission here in the Philippines. At the moment, we are actively engaged in various projects designed to uplift the living conditions of impoverished communities and to shelter orphans in the Philippines. Ultimately, however, all our humanitarian work will mean nothing if we are unable to bear witness and evangelize to these people in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in fulfillment of the Great Commission.
We need your help to complete this church-related construction project:
- Pavilion construction. The pavilion inside the mission facility will serve as the primary worship and meeting center for members of the church of Christ congregation, the orphanage children & staff, and those interested in the true “good news” we have to share.

Members of the church of Christ from different towns in Negros Oriental province gather for a worship service at a rented location in Tanjay City.
A Community of Believers
Tanjay City is a predominantly Roman Catholic town (a legacy of the Spanish colonial era) with some pockets of Protestant, Baptist, LDS, and other Christian sects. Our work is cut out for us as we seek to establish a community of believers and saved souls in this city.
As of today, there are only a handful of families who are church of Christ members in this city, our own family (Georgia and I) being one of those. We seek to invite more people to be baptized to the faith in the name of our Lord and start a growing and full-fledged church of Christ congregation.
A Place to Gather the Harvest
The planned multi-purpose pavilion inside the Casa Esperanza of Angels mission will be the primary worship and meeting place for the congregation. This will be the central location to which we will invite friends to hear about the good news of salvation in the Bible as expounded by a resident preacher as well as by visiting ministers and other members of the church.
Our vision at Casa Esperanza of Angels mission is to provide the venue from which the Tanjay City church of Christ congregation could take root and blossom. As the pioneering members of the congregation, we will focus on inviting others to hear the word of God with a receptive heart, believe, repent of their sins, be baptized by immersion, and remain faithful until death or Christ comes again.
Salt of the Earth, Light of the World
Matthew 5: 13 – 16 (KJV)
13Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
While we are confident that, by God’s grace, we will succeed in our mission to establish a church of Christ in this city, we are also doing community-focused activities to help make our vision a reality.
Apart from church-related functions, the pavilion will also be open to the public on certain occasions when we conduct community outreach activities, humanitarian missions such as medical and dental clinics, and livelihood training programs. We believe that members of the community are more attentive to our message and invitation to evangelical activities when they actually see the love we have for Christ and for each other demonstrated in a practical way through activities designed to help them.
We need your prayers and support to make our vision of establishing a church of Christ congregation in Tanjay City. If you want to help with this project, please get in touch with us today.
