We are pleased to announce the hiring of Dennis Bello as the minister/spiritual leader for Philippine Mission/Casa Esperanza of Angels effective July 1.
Dennis has been married for 21 years and has 4 children. He has been active in church work since his graduation from Cebu Bible College in 1995.
The objective for his work is specifically “seeking and saving the lost” as is the core focus of Philippine Mission. Dennis will be conducting bible studies both inside our facility with the orphanage children/staff, as well as out in the community. He will be leading our weekly bible studies and delivering sermons each Sunday during our worship service. Dennis will also be working to improve our singing skills!
We are so thankful for those that “stepped up to the plate” in support of filling this vital position. This is an integral part of our mission and we are excited for this addition to our full time staff.
Construction Update
We are excited for the continued progress on the family cottage construction project. Interior finish work is nearing completion, and window/door openings are complete and ready for windows/doors. The ceiling installation is under way.
Upon completion, Ron & Gigi will move to the family cottage with joy after being in the 18’x16’ laundry house for the last 2 years!
Modifications on our storage container are complete with a large door built for side entrance and our first set of shelving inside. Organization of our supplies/donated items is being done and placed in the new storage area.
CEA Model Modifications
Originally, when we only had one children’s home built, we housed both girls and boys in the same home with separated bedrooms and bathrooms. Since completion of the second home, in coordination with Save Asian Souls dedicated to girls vulnerable to human trafficking, we have moved all the girls from House #1 to the second home. After some adjustment period, the children are happy in their respective homes.
House number 1 can accommodate a maximum of 16 boys. With only 7 in the home at this time, our social worker is searching for more boys to add to the home.
House number 2 can accommodate a maximum of 24 girls. There are currently 16 girls in the second home. With the addition of our new storage container, we can move items stored in the second home and begin preparing to accept more girls into this home.
If you would like to sponsor a child…giving them HOPE and teaching them the “good news” we encourage you to contact us today! For only $35 a month you will be providing a needy child with food, clothing, shelter, medical care, secular learning and most importantly spiritual direction for their lives.
Many of these children have already endured a life of pain and suffering no one should have to endure. But within a very short time at CEA they find their place in a home of love and care where their future is bright again!
