We hope you all enjoyed a good Christmas and Happy New Year as we did here! We were blessed with donations from the US as well as folks here locally and the children enjoyed a great Christmas!
On Dec. 22 we had our Christmas party with plenty of delicious foods, and games!
On Christmas eve the children enjoyed a movie complete with popcorn and sodas! Later on Christmas eve at midnight they had a midnight snack in their individual homes and opened one of their gifts. Christmas day after breakfast and opening of other gifts we met as a group (both children’s homes 1 & 2) and had lunch and more games for the children.
New Year’s eve came in with a “bang” and we marveled at fireworks set off by locals around the property here.
On Jan. 4 the children resumed their normal schedule with modular classes and school work.
We are so very thankful for all our donors/supporters for making this a “Wonderful Holiday Season to Remember” for the children of Casa Esperanza!
Construction Update
We have been trying to work on the construction of the family cottage but have been hampered by frequent rain, torrential at times! The footers have been full of water for weeks now.
The laundry house, where Gigi and I currently reside, was flooded one night in late December with almost 10” of water during a tropical depression that passed over us!
We scrambled at 3 am to get as many things as possible up on tables and countertops. We were very lucky that our losses were minimal. No high cost items were lost or damaged.
What are the 2021 Plans for CEA?
With some restrictions still in place, we cannot pursue community outreach as is part of our master plan. We will, however, continue to add children to our first two homes until such time as they reach full capacity … which would be a total of 40 children between the two homes. We are currently at 19 children. We will also review/modify our policies/procedures as needed to fine tune our CEA orphanage operations. We will, of course, continue with our weekly worship and bible studies to make the children aware of God’s plan for their lives and a deeper understanding of His word.
Should restrictions be eased, we hope to search for a full time minister to lead the community evangelism efforts and spiritual teaching/guidance of our orphanage children and staff.
If funding allows, we plan to complete the family cottage that will serve as living quarters and office space for Ron and Gigi.
When this structure is completed we will then decide on our next major project based on need/finances and in line with our “master plan” for the facility.
We look forward to a new year! It will surely hold challenges and hurdles to overcome, but as we clear those hurdles and overcome those challenges we become stronger and give the glory to God!
May we all remain healthy and steadfast in the mission of this new year. We pray for you all and trust you will remain committed to the work here as we are team members in reaching lost souls for Him here in the Philippines.
We Still Need Your Help!
We need still need more child sponsors. For $35 a month you can help a child that is struggling in life and give them the opportunity to learn about God’s plan for their life. It’s a small price to pay to bring joy and happiness to a child struggling to survive, but no one can put a price on a soul. Three souls were added to His kingdom in 2020 at CEA. Can you please help us give HOPE to the hopeless?
If $35 a month does not fit into your budget but you still want to sponsor a child, you CAN! Just contact us to let us know what amount you are able to afford.

Luke 12:33-34 (NKJV)
33Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys. 34For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
