In close coordination and with the full support of the Save Asia Souls Foundation, Casa Esperanza of Angels Philippine Mission has established a safe refuge facility for children at risk to becoming victims of human trafficking. A dedicated building for this purpose inside the mission is now fully operational. The shelter is designed to house at-risk children (girls – only females in the house) from three years of age upwards and provide them protection and a place where they can feel safe and lead normal lives.
Update (30 July 2021): The second house, designed as a safe refuge facility to protect girls who may be at risk of becoming victims of human trafficking, is now fully operational. The shelter currently houses a number of children together with their designated house parents (see photo above). We need your continued support for this project to provide for the daily needs of these children.
Update (30 July 2020): Construction of the second children’s home intended to house children (girls) that may be potential victims of human trafficking is almost complete and will open soon.

Alarming Human Trafficking Trends in Asia
The scourge of human trafficking has been steadily rising in Southeast Asia these past few years putting thousands of children from poor countries in the region at risk to becoming victims of human trafficking syndicates.
According to the Global Report on Trafficking in Persons 2016 (pdf), published by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes (UNODC), marginalized children and women from countries such as Laos, Indonesia, Myanmar, Vietnam, and the Philippines are at risk of being abducted and transported illegally to countries like Japan, China, Malaysia, and Thailand where there is a lucrative market for illicit child labor and sex workers.
A staggering 60 percent of identified victims of human trafficking in the region were transported and sold for sexual exploitation. 51 percent of these victims are females of which a third are children forcibly transported by trafficking syndicates.
