Our CEA Family Continues to Grow! | CEA March 2021 Newsletter

Most every month we add new children to our facility. While giving them a chance at life and often bringing them out of a risky situation is heartwarming, their stories are heart breaking.

Many children, particularly in the rural mountain areas, struggle to survive on a daily basis. They lack adequate food, medical/dental services, education, and are very vulnerable to abuse in various forms.

Parents/relatives of these children are plagued with illiteracy, and unemployment resulting in extreme poverty. If they are able to find work it is in either the agricultural or fishing industries and offers very low wages.

Most of these families have inadequate living facilities…often without running water and electricity. Using bamboo and palm fronds, they build small homes called “bahaykubo or nipa hut” named after the kind of palm used for their thatched roofs.

Our mission to give them all their physical needs and share with them the “good news” of the gospel makes the work worthwhile.

For just $35 a month you can help bring a child out of this poverty and give them HOPE! Consider making a donation or sponsoring a child today! We have more children that desperately need our help!

Construction Update

With the recent reduction in rainfall we are able to make faster progress with our current construction projects!

The “family cottage” is coming along much quicker now with walls going up!

This will serve as living quarters for Ron & Gigi as well as office space until such time as the administration building can be constructed.

We are also building a small garage for our children’s homes employees parking needs (motorcycles).

We are very thankful for our donors and supporters that make it possible for us to continue such construction projects as we make progress towards completing the “master plan” for our facility.

Volunteer Teacher/Minister Dennis Bello

In recent weeks we have been blessed to have Brother Dennis Bello volunteering to help us here at CEA. Dennis is a graduate of Cebu Bible College and has been active in church work/evangelism since his graduation in 1995. He is married and has 4 children.

Dennis is currently teaching both a boys bible class and an “all children’s” class on Sat. afternoons, a Sunday school class on Sunday mornings, song practice before the morning worship, and delivering the sermon during our morning worship time.

The children are enjoying the lessons and our singing is improving thanks to Dennis!

We hope that the Covid-19 restrictions will soon be loosened to allow us to reach out to the community and open up worship services to the public with Dennis’s help in the very near future!
