Raising children is difficult enough without the increasing challenges of this world. The world continues to spiral out of control, in the opinion of many of us.
Recently, here on our island of Negros, the governor was conducting a regular meeting at his home on Saturday morning, March 4. His home was ambushed by men with guns killing the governor, 8 other people, and wounding an additional 17 people. It is very sad for us and difficult to comprehend people willing to do this kind of thing.
The children in this day and age are challenged with acts of violence like this but also face so many other pressures in this world. This puts even more pressure on us raising them to teach them how to navigate in such a perilous world.
All the more, the work we are trying to achieve here at CEA becomes important. We are doing our best to raise children with good morals and a love for humanity. We are trying to build people of good character that value life and family. We are teaching them to hold firmly to values that will help them succeed in a world fraught with danger.
If you are able to sponsor a child or donate towards our efforts here, we encourage you to do so today.

Construction Update
Most of the slab area and many of the columns have now been poured for our CEA Learning Center. It is such a blessing we can continue to progress with the construction of this much needed structure. We are thankful to all of our donors for your generous support! We still have a long way to go and then we will need furnishings, computers for our children’s computer lab, and medical equipment/supplies for our clinic so please consider a donation if you are able towards this building!
Sustainability Program
Our sustainability program is a multi-purpose program. First, to provide as much food as possible from our own efforts which in turn reduces the burden on donors to supply all our needs. Secondly, to potentially provide food to others in the community as part of our outreach efforts.
We have numerous fruit trees, a vegetable garden, geese (including a baby now just over a month old) and we have plans to keep expanding our sustainability program.
We have recently finished construction of a brooder for use in our upcoming efforts to raise geese (more), chickens for eggs, and quail for meat.
We have also built/installed our trellises for dragon fruit production. Our cuttings are planted and now we just wait and hope for success!
Besides providing us, and others with food, it also is an opportunity for our CEA children to assist with and learn these methods of providing one’s own food.
Proverbs 2:11-15
11Discretion will preserve you;
Understanding will keep you,
12To deliver you from the way of evil,
From the man who speaks perverse things,
13From those who leave the paths of uprightness
To walk in the ways of darkness;
14Who rejoice in doing evil,
And delight in the perversity of the wicked;
15Whose ways are crooked,
And who are devious in their paths.
