Opening Progress Update
We continue to push towards the opening of our Orphan Care Program with the completed 1st of 4 children’s homes. There are a number of tasks still to be completed before this can happen.
We are still “jumping through all the hoops” and “over all the hurdles” to get the permanent electrical supply lines installed from the national highway to our facility property. It is proving to be quite complicated, time consuming, and expensive.
We must also complete a fairly long list of requirements to get the required Mayor’s Permit that all businesses here must get prior to operation. This includes verification taxes have been paid, a sanitary inspection of the structures, fire inspection, police clearance, barangay clearance…..among others.
We are also searching for house parents. This is a key role for our operations and we are seeking to find a good Christian couple that has the passion and heart for the children.
Accomplishing all this, as well as other tasks we do on a daily basis, can be difficult at times but we continue to push towards the goal. Accomplishments here usually take much longer than anticipated!
Construction Update
We are working to complete the central laundry house. Since we had already started this structure months ago we are trying to complete it. We will then temporarily use it for our administration office, currently located in the first children’s home, until we have another place to set up the office.
This will free up more space in the children’s home and allow us to do our work without the distraction of being in the home with the children.
We have also broken ground on the second children’s home! This home is in collaboration with Save Asian Souls organization for our Human Trafficking Prevention program.
This home will house approximately 24 girls vulnerable to human trafficking. It will be managed by a “house mother” and funded by SAS.
Hollow Block Production
With the help of a generous donor we have purchased our own hollow block machine. It is in place and now ready for production. We have been hampered frequently with inferior blocks purchased from other sources as well as extreme delays in deliveries. These delays greatly affect our progress. We will begin production of our own blocks on site soon to remedy this problem.
Faith Without Works
We are told in scripture that faith without works is dead (James 2:14-17). Faith without works is a dead faith because the lack of works reveals an unchanged life or a spiritually dead heart. There are many verses that say that true saving faith will result in a transformed life, that faith is demonstrated by the works we do. How we live…reveals what we believe and whether the faith we profess to have is a living faith.
All our programs at Casa Esperanza of Angels are designed to show God’s love through our actions. Be it by our Orphan Care Program, church of Christ Establishment, Community Outreach Program, Livelihood Training Program, Child Education & Youth Ministry, Human Trafficking Prevention, or our Sustainability & Self – Sufficiency Program.
Each program is designed to be the hand that reaches out, to bring a smile to those who lack reasons to smile, to be the light (Matthew 5:14-16) for those in darkness, and show them love (1 John 4:8).
Join in our mission to be a light unto the people here in Tanjay City and Philippines!
