July ended the school year with “Nutrition Month” for the children of Casa Esperanza of Angels. We had a slogan and jingle contest, educational films, and an opportunity for the children to cook a meal. The children did great and enjoyed all the nutrition month activities!
Now our summer activities are in full swing! Some of the activities this summer will include: scavenger hunt, camping/bonfire and singing, pillow making from recycled materials, knot tying, “minute to win it” games, board games, and talent contest!
Construction Update
Plato once said “Never discourage anyone who continually makes progress, no matter how slow … even if that someone is yourself!”
We sometimes wish things would go quicker, but persistent effort has great value.
The family cottage ceiling is now complete except for paint. The front porch and steps are awaiting tile. The interior tiling is now underway. Following tile work we will complete the installation of plumbing fixtures, interior paint, counter tops and cabinetry.
Completion of the family cottage also requires additional infrastructure work such as road work and electrical/water supply lines. These infrastructure projects are a one-time expense, but very costly. Donations towards the completion of these projects is greatly appreciated!
