Since April 3 we have been under a mandatory Enhanced Community Quarantine here in Tanjay City. Only 1 person per household may be out and about purchasing necessary items by using the “Quarantine Pass” provided by the government. Our parents, Ron & Pat Brown, are staying in Gigi’s ancestral family home in town and we are keeping them supplied with necessities until such time as they can travel back to the US.
We are all currently healthy and doing well. We pray all of you, our donors & supporters, are also staying home and remaining healthy. Our prayers are with all those ill and those attending to them and hoping this pandemic will pass quickly.
It is unknown, at this time, when we will return to the US to report on our work due to the global situation. Please continue your support of our mission if you are financially able. We will continue to update you on the happenings here at Casa Esperanza of Angels!
New Addition to our Casa Esperanza of Angels Family
On March 20 we added a new family member to our first children’s home. Meet B-U Cadalin Montederamos, age 9.
B-U will be 10 on April 24. Before coming to Casa Esperanza of Angels orphan care facility, he was at Casa Miani-Arvedi home for boys for 4 years. Since coming to Casa Esperanza he is doing well integrating into the family and has not displayed some of the behavior issues he had at the boys’ home. We attribute his improved behavior to the loving family setting he is now enjoying.
Welcome to Casa Esperanza of Angels, B-U!
CEA Children’s Summer Program
Even before the world was hit with the spread of COVID-19 we had already planned our “Summer Program” for the children of Casa Esperanza of Angels as part of our Child Education and Youth Ministry core program of the mission. The school year here in the Philippines is completed in March, and summer vacation is the months of April and May.
Each day the children have planned tutorial time, bible stories, games, and other fun learning activities planned and lead by our “Education and Activities Director” Gigi Brown, as well as the house parents.
Philippine Mission Construction Update
Construction work continues on the second children’s home in coordination with Save Asian Souls. We have completed the roof and soffit. The interior walls plaster work will be completed soon and the ceiling is currently being installed.
When completed, the second children’s home will shelter children (girls) who are at risk of becoming human trafficking victims.
The inability to get materials will soon affect our construction progress until the current quarantine is lifted.
We are also working on our roads here within the property and preparing for continued work on the exterior enclosure wall in the near future.
Happy Birthday to our April Birthday Celebrants!
Happy Birthday this month to Denver Dela Torre (April 10, house parent’s biological son), our “Education and Activities Director”, Georgia (Gigi) Brown (April 23), and B-U Cadalin Montederamos (April 24).
Wishing you all a wonderful birthday and new year of your life!
Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV)
6Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
