Gigi and I are currently traveling across the U.S. to report to churches and meet with our donors and sponsors.
We are incredibly grateful for the opportunities we are given to share updates on our mission efforts and to connect with child sponsors and supporters.
During our trip, we are visiting congregations that are already supporting us, as well as giving presentations at churches we haven’t visited before.
Each location has been encouraging, as we have received warm receptions, kind words, and generous donations to help us in this mission.
We will return to the Philippines on December 10. Please keep us in your prayers for safe travels and open hearts to help the children of CEA.
Construction Update – Staff/Visitor Housing
Construction of our Staff/visitor housing is progressing well. The septic tank has been built, the walls are complete, and the bond beams poured in preparation for the roof structure installation.
We plan to begin building the trusses and roof installation upon our return to the Philippines following our US travels.
Is it Failure or Success?
The goal of every child admitted to CEA is to help them achieve success in life and foster a relationship with God.
While this is a challenging process, there are times when we may not reach our objectives with every child.
This may occur if a child struggles to adapt to the facility, is unwilling to follow rules and regulations, or faces mental or emotional challenges that are difficult to resolve and result in impacting other residents in the facility.
We are committed to addressing the problems and issues that children face, which may jeopardize their ability to remain in our care.
However, some children struggle to adapt or engage in ways that lead us to discharge them from the facility.
It is disheartening when individuals who could benefit significantly from assistance refuse to take an active role in accepting that help.
The old saying, “You can only help those who help themselves,” remains true. It is a two-way street.
We must focus on children who are willing and committed to pursuing their dreams and goals in life and continue to support them in their efforts in whatever ways we can.
Watching them grow and mature is priceless, as we know that without our help, their chances of achieving the same level of success would be unrealistic.
We want to express our gratitude to all our child sponsors for their generosity in helping these children.
Please remember that even if not every child fits our definition of a “success story,” we are making a positive impact on their lives.
Psalms 1:1-3
1Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
