USA Spring Visit | CEA March 2024 Newsletter

CEA US presentationsGigi and I will be in the US from March 28 through May 23. Most of our schedule for giving presentations on the progress of the mission is full, but we still have a few open slots in May.

If you know a congregation interested in hearing a presentation, please let us know ASAP.

Please pray for us as we travel that we will be safe & healthy and reach the hearts of those who are willing to join us in this work.

Are you Suffering from Apathy?

Apathy refers to the state of lacking emotions, interest, or concern about something. It is characterized by a lack of motivation, passion, or excitement. An apathetic person has no interest or concern about any aspect of their life, be it emotional, social, spiritual, philosophical, virtual, or physical. Apathy can also be described as a person’s lack of direction or goal orientation. Apathy is the acceptance of the unacceptable!

When we hear of a lost child or a suffering animal, we are quick to react. But when we hear about someone halfway around the world struggling to survive and having no relationship with God are we also quick to react? Or do we say…” oh, that is so sad to hear” …and go about our daily routine? If it doesn’t evoke emotions and inspire action, consider self-evaluation.

Matthew 25:35-40

35for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
37“Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

James 1:21-24

21Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
22But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
